The AIXlink/X.25 package requires approximately 4.2 megabytes of disk space if the entire package is installed.
Stop all sx25 software before installing another version of the software. AIX version 4.1.5, 4.2.1, 4.3.1 or higher is required to install and run the AIXlink/X.25 product.
When applying updates (ie. using PTFs) to the AIXLink/X.25 product, the X.25 configuration may be lost. Therefore, use the backupx25 command to backup your configuration.
A migration (i.e., using install images) should retain your configuration, but to be on the safe side, do a backupx25 anyway.
Use of AIXlink/X.25 with the IBM ARTIC960 Microchannel adapter or the IBM ARTIC960Hx 4-Port Selectable PCI adapter requires the installation of device support for the adapter, which is packaged on a diskette that is shipped with the adapter. The IBM ARTIC960 AIX Support Program (devices.artic960.rte) must be at level 1.3.1.0 or higher. The devices.artic960 image is also included on the AIXlink/X.25 LPP Version 1.1.5.0 CD for your convenience.
