ntx_chreset Command

Purpose

Resets a Network Terminal Accelerator (NTX) channel. This command only applies to AIX Version 4.2 or later.

Syntax

ntx_chreset PortID

Description

The ntx_chreset command terminates any activity that is currently running on the channel specified by the hty port name. Any data buffered in the queues is flushed and the channel is closed. If the an /etc/inittab entry has the getty command scheduled to be respawned, it does so.

Flags

None.

Parameters

PortID Specifies the hty port name.

Exit Status

This command returns the following exit values:

0 Successful completion.
>0 An error occurred.

Security

Access Control: You must have root authority to run this command.

Auditing Events: N/A

Examples

To reset the channel with hty port name /dev/hty123, enter:

ntx_chreset /dev/hty123

Files

/usr/bin/ntx_chreset Contains the ntx_chreset command.
/dev/rhp0 Default NTX raw device file name.
